You’re missing the picture.
Every puzzle comes with a picture on the box.
Business doesn’t.
Instead, we collect pieces.
A website.
A LinkedIn profile.
A keynote.
A podcast.
A book.
A new offer.
A partnership.
A team.
Another opportunity.
None of them are wrong.
In fact, many of them are excellent.
The problem is that without seeing the picture they’re meant to create together, every new piece becomes another decision.
Should I launch this?
Should I say yes?
Should I rewrite my website?
Should I change my bio?
Should I start a podcast?
Should I create another offer?
Eventually, business starts to feel like rearranging puzzle pieces on a table, hoping they’ll somehow reveal the image on their own.
They won’t.
Then something changes.
Not because you find better words.
Not because you redesign your website.
Not because you create a new offer.
You recognize the thread.
And suddenly the picture begins to emerge.
Now every decision becomes easier.
Not because there are fewer opportunities.
Because you finally have a way to evaluate them.
Does this belong?
Does it reinforce what I’m building?
Or is it simply another interesting piece from a different puzzle?
That’s what surprised me most.
Finding the thread didn’t just change how my clients described their work.
It changed how they decided what came next.
Once you can see the picture, you’re no longer rearranging pieces.
You’re completing it.
