I looked up the difference between “fraught” and “wrought” today.
Not because my life demanded it. Not because anyone was waiting breathlessly for clarification.
I just wanted to make sure I knew.
And honestly?
That may be the most “writer who grew up before Google” sentence I’ve ever typed.
The good news is I now know the difference.
The bad news is I don’t think either word has improved a single conversation I’ve ever had.
This is the trap smart people fall into constantly: trying to sound precise instead of trying to be understood.
Yes, I’m smart. And so are you.
